Extremism and How to Detect and Prevent It Using Artificial Intelligence
As part of the annual scientific activities plan and under the patronage of the Dean of the College (Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman), the Psychological Counseling and University Guidance Unit held a course entitled "Extremism and How to Detect and Prevent It Using Artificial Intelligence" on Sunday and Monday, followed by a written exam on Tuesday (October 7, 2025). The course took place in the Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the College and was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Ibrahim Ahmed and Assistant Professor Dr. Dhafer Hamid Abdul. A number of faculty members and students participated in the course, which aimed to shed light on the concept of extremism, its causes and effects, and how artificial intelligence can be an effective tool in detecting and limiting its spread. The course also discussed the role of modern technologies in content analysis, identifying extremist patterns, and preventing the spread of extremist ideology online. Following the course, a written exam was held, in which a number of faculty members and staff participated.
