- Graduate Studies Affairs

The Graduate Studies Department is considered an essential part of the college and an active component of the Vice Dean's Office for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, where it plays a pivotal role as a link between the outcomes of graduate studies and the university administration. The department is responsible for organizing and coordinating all administrative matters related to postgraduate studies, by processing the transactions of master's and doctoral students, whether they are in the study phase or after graduation, following well-considered administrative mechanisms aimed at enhancing the efficiency of academic and administrative performance. The department plays a vital role in addressing the challenges faced by graduate students, from admission procedures to the awarding of degrees, through close cooperation with the office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies. This collaboration contributes to providing a comprehensive support environment that helps students overcome obstacles that may hinder their academic journey. The main tasks of the department also include managing admission processes, issuing administrative orders for accepted students, and archiving their files to ensure the protection of their academic rights. Through these integrated tasks, the Graduate Studies Division aims to provide an advanced educational and research environment that contributes to the development of academic staff and the enhancement of scientific research, leading to the improvement of the college's academic level and helping to achieve the strategic goals of higher education.

 

- Studies and Planning

 The Studies and Planning Division is directly linked to the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the college and to the Studies and Planning Department at the Anbar University Presidency. The Studies and Planning Division is the main source of information for all faculty and staff members, and works to update their data and the information of undergraduate and postgraduate students. It also endeavours to provide accurate and up-to-date information, as well as the speed of its completion and provision through the adoption of modern systems.

Tasks of the division

-Preparing statistics for successful students in all departments and stages.

-Preparing an annual statistic for graduating students in each academic year.

-Providing the university presidency with basic statistical reports, the most important of which are: (university statistics, student statistics, database of resigned and newly appointed teachers, annual report, and various other reports).

-Creating and updating the student database regularly.

-Following up on the status of the first students in each department.

-Carrying out various duties and tasks according to the needs and requirements of the work.

 

The Units:

- Continuing Education

 The Continuing Education Unit is one of the important service units in the college, which is concerned with development, training, workshops, courses and seminars to develop the skills and capabilities of the college staff and students in particular and the university in general. The unit handles all courses, seminars and workshops held by the college within different disciplines and within the needs of the college, which in turn contribute to developing and changing many scientific and practical concepts to support and encourage faculty and staff in improving performance, professional development and scientific excellence to increase their efficiency at work. The unit is one of the main units linked to the structure of the Office of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs.

As for the vision of the Continuing Education Unit, it seeks excellence in continuing education aimed at developing the competencies of faculty and staff and giving encouraging and strengthening workshops for students as well.

The objectives are clear and explicit through the development of the college's faculty and staff in several fields. The Continuing Education Unit at the college seeks to provide expertise and all necessary services through which the expertise of the college's staff can be developed, as well as the preparation of scientific, practical and professional programmes as determined by the field of specialisation or the beneficiary of the unit's activity in the college for the purpose of qualifying and developing its work and linking it with the community and providing all experiences and expertise and benefiting from modern experiences that mimic the labour market.

Finally, the Continuing Education Unit is an educational, educational and training unit that aims to raise the scientific and performance level of the university's affiliates to serve the scientific process and community development. The unit also aims to develop the administrative, professional and academic human resources in the college and provide training services to various segments of society by continuously updating and developing training materials and training methods in line with the latest developments and community needs. The unit is also interested in organising workshops, seminars and scientific conferences and its distinguished role in raising the level of science and progress.

 

- Scientific Affairs

 Tasks of the Scientific Affairs Unit

The tasks of the Scientific Affairs Unit are as follows:

- Following up the scientific research plan of the teaching staff and issuing endorsements for it.

- Follow up the plan of conferences, seminars and workshops and issue endorsements for them.

- Organising the accreditation of scientific journals for teachers and postgraduate students in the college.

- Standardising and following up the curricula and vocabulary for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

- Follow up the issues of scientific sabbatical for the purpose of conducting scientific research or giving lectures to and from the college.

- Follow up the books written, whether as a scientific source or a methodological book, according to the instructions.

- Circulate all instructions, directives and decisions to the scientific departments, divisions and administrative units in the college regarding scientific issues and make sure that they are adhered to.

- Completing and following up the study leave plan for our college staff.

- Work monthly to consolidate, audit and submit the government programme and qualitative achievements to the university on paper and electronically.

- Coordinate with the Scientific Promotion Unit in the college regarding the endorsement of professors' activities as required by the promotion process.

- Rehabilitation and employment

 Tasks of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit

1- Training and qualifying students with additional skills for the purpose of integrating them into the labour market by conducting training workshops in this field.

2- Assisting in the employment of graduates by contacting private and governmental companies to find job opportunities that suit their aspirations and what they have gained from their academic experience in their universities and training experience in the rehabilitation, employment and follow-up divisions.

3- Coordinating, preparing and holding job fairs in cooperation with private and governmental companies for the purpose of communicating with them by graduate students.

3- Following up graduates after their employment, indicating the strengths and weaknesses of their performance, and submitting periodic reports to their colleges on modifying the curriculum according to what is required by the labour market.

 

- Psychological counseling and educational guidance

The Educational and Psychological Guidance Unit offers a range of individual or group services with preventive, developmental, or therapeutic goals that aim to help students develop and progress by understanding the reality they live in and overcoming the challenges they face throughout their university years and beyond, in preparation for a successful future. These services include academic guidance, which aims to assist students in self-learning by acquiring and refining the necessary skills. And the Academic Skills Development Program service helps students who are struggling in their studies, or students with high absenteeism rates, to acquire the essential skills to overcome their difficulties and achieve success. And the individual psychological and social counseling service, which helps personal counseling students take responsibility in their lives and acquire the necessary skills to adapt to the demands of university life.

 

- The website and the internet

It is one of the units administratively affiliated with the academic assistant, equivalent to the electronic computing center at the university presidency. It supervises and coordinates the college's website and periodically updates the website's information to align with the college's activities and faculty members, reflecting the college's image. And its tasks include the following:

- It is the unit responsible for supervising and coordinating the college's website and its regular updates.

- You will be responsible for the internet network within the college.

Providing the best services to all visitors of the site.

 

  

Government Program

The Government Program Unit prepares and organizes all college and center activities monthly according to forms filled out by the Government Program Unit within the university formations. After reviewing and collecting the data, the activities are sent to the ministry on the first of each month. It is administratively and organizationally linked to the scientific assistant. The vision of the unit is based on enhancing and contributing to scientific output. And its mission is to work collaboratively with public universities and civil society institutions, which requires more dedication to elevate and enhance the academic level of the college and to advance it to a better level through joint cooperation between the college's departments and divisions to invest in educational outcomes. And its main objectives are:

- Considering the entry of Iraqi universities into global rankings as a goal and an indicator of the quality of higher education.

- Plans to reduce bureaucracy, promote academic environments, research, and university life, elevate scientific standards, and seek contracts with the government and companies.

Encouraging the establishment of private universities with global standards and quality, and putting the current universities to the test to raise their level.
