Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman, the esteemed Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, the college organised a scientific workshop titled "Internet Addiction: An Overview and Ways to Deal with It," on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the college. The workshop was presented by

2- Assistant Professor Taysir Ahmed Yassin

The workshop addressed the topic of internet addiction as a growing phenomenon affecting various age groups, especially the youth. It discussed the concept of internet addiction and highlighted its main types, such as addiction to social media, online gaming, and excessive browsing. It also covered the symptoms and warning signs that may indicate the progression of excessive use to an addictive state, as well as the psychological, social, and health effects resulting from this type of addiction.

Strategies for coping with and preventing addiction, including self-regulation, using helpful applications, and developing healthy alternatives for daily activities.
