Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman, esteemed Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a workshop titled "The Risks of Drugs and Their Consequences in Sharia and Law" on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the college. The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Nouri Rashid and Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Ibrahim Ahmed.

The workshop addressed the dangers of drug use and its consequences in Islamic law. These efforts aim to raise awareness among university students and staff about the harms of drugs and their negative impacts on mental, physical, and social health. It provided comprehensive and reliable information about different types of drugs, recognized signs of addiction and stages of treatment, encouraged discussion and dialogue on the issue of drugs, identified prospects for treatment, awareness, and support within the university and the local community, and highlighted the importance of drug use prevention.
