Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Salah Awwad Salman, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, and within the activities of the psychological counselling and educational guidance week, a counselling workshop entitled (Electronic Blackmail) was held on Sunday (25/11/2024), in the (Al-Khwarizmi) hall at the college:

The workshop dealt with ‘The phenomenon of cyber extortion’, where real-life examples of some cases of extortion were presented and what are the legal procedures to be taken when exposed to cyber extortion.

The workshop aimed to educate our dear students about the seriousness of cyber blackmail, what are its consequences, how to protect personal accounts from hacking, as well as how to deal with the blackmailer in case of blackmail. The workshop also addressed in detail the ways in which the blackmailer obtains information and focused on ways to protect against blackmail.
