Workshop Titled “Effective Communication Skills”

 

The Career and Employment Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, under the patronage of its Dean, Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman, organized a workshop titled “Effective Communication Skills,” in cooperation with the College’s Women’s Affairs Unit.

The workshop was held in Al-Khwarizmi Hall on Monday, April 20, 2026, with the participation of several faculty members and students. Dr. Makarem Abdul Wahid Abdul Jabbar presented the workshop, with Dr. Shihab Hamad Khalifa and Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Hatem Alawi serving on the organizing committee. The session was moderated by Ms. Duaa Yassin Khader, Head of the Career and Employment Unit at the College. The workshop addressed the most prominent methods of successful communication and its importance in building professional and personal relationships, as well as developing dialogue and persuasion skills.

The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the attendees through questions and comments, and aimed to develop the participants’ abilities and enhance their skills in line with the requirements of the job market. The concepts of soft skills and hard skills were also explained and clarified. At the end of the workshop, the college emphasized its commitment to holding such activities that contribute to honing students' skills and preparing them for their professional future.
