Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Cultural Unit of the Student Activities Division organized a cultural lecture on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, entitled "The Culture of Dialogue: How to Disagree Without Conflicting."

The lecture was delivered in a relaxed and informal manner, avoiding traditional rules and protocols, and fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere for fourth-year students in the Computer Science Department. Dr. Makarem Abdulwahid, Head of the Division, opened the session by outlining the objectives and general vision of the activities offered to students. This was followed by Dr. Ruqaya Iyad, who presented stories and scenarios supported by Quranic verses illustrating the importance of adopting a culture of dialogue.

The lecture concluded by emphasizing a set of essential skills that students should possess, including: listening skills, the ability to disagree respectfully, speaking skills, phrasing skills, and leadership skills, among others. Dr. Makarem also touched on the importance of these skills in the students’ future after graduation, and their role in enhancing the confidence of institutions and the labor market in them.
