
Among the week's activities, there is a workshop titled "Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism" in the field of psychological counseling and educational guidance.
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a workshop titled "Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism" on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the college. The workshop was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Ibrahim Ahmed, Lecturer Dr. Sumaya Abdullah Hamad, and Assistant Lecturer Dua Yassin Khudr.
The workshop aimed to raise cultural awareness among the college students regarding human rights, peacebuilding, and combating ideological extremism to strengthen the collective resolve to find ways to mitigate the risks of hate speech. The workshop also aimed to raise awareness among university students about the importance of spreading cultural awareness among them regarding the necessity of promoting a spirit of tolerance and social cohesion.By defining the nature of ideological extremism, discussing its causes and objectives, and proposing strategies to address it and mechanisms to protect families and individuals in society from its dangers, as it is the safest way to protect Iraqi society from the harm of any external influence or undesirable behavior from any source.
