Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Week, a scientific workshop entitled (Digital Drugs, a New Addiction Danger for Youth)

  

College of Computer Science and Information Technology, as part of the activities of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Week, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a scientific workshop on Tuesday (26/11/2024), delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Khaled Shaker Jassim. The workshop aims to explain the effects of digital drugs, as they are the new danger in the digital world, and to educate and inform society on how to reduce this phenomenon.

The workshop highlighted the importance of raising awareness about digital drugs, defining the concept of digital drugs and how they work, and their psychological and behavioral impact.

The workshop recommended the importance of raising awareness of health and psychological risks, and clarifying the potential effects of digital drugs on the brain and mental health, especially among adolescents and young people who are most vulnerable to experiencing this phenomenon, to build an aware society capable of confronting emerging digital challenges and promoting a culture of using technology in a safe and healthy manner.
