A scientific educational lecture on the correct use of artificial intelligence websites and its employment in scientific and life aspects
The College of Education for Girls organised a qualitative lecture on employing artificial intelligence in scientific research in accordance with the recommendations of the International Day of Girls in Information Technology. This event was organised by the College's Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, on Monday 27-1-2025, as part of the ‘Journey of Light: Shining Science and Knowledge Around’ initiative, which aims to enhance the technological skills of female students and empower them academically and professionally.
The lecture, titled ‘Correct Use of Artificial Intelligence Websites in Scientific and Life Aspects,’ featured a presentation of six artificial intelligence tools by Dr Makarem Abdulwahid Abduljabbar, head of the Women's Affairs Unit, and teacher Siddiq Qais Abdulrahman from the Government Information and Communication Division. The tools presented focused on supporting scientific research through data analysis platforms, simulating laboratory experiments, improving academic writing through natural language processing techniques, and practical applications to simplify daily tasks.
The event witnessed a remarkable interaction from the fourth-year students of the Chemistry and Life Sciences departments, who discussed during a dialogue session in the presence of the Head of the Department and faculty members how to use these technologies in their graduation projects and develop their technological skills. Dr Makarem stressed the importance of enhancing students' confidence in their abilities in the digital fields, and linking scientific disciplines with modern tools to open new creative horizons.
This initiative comes within the vision of the College of Education for Girls to promote digital transformation and empower women in technical fields, in line with the objectives of the International Girls in Information Technology Day.
The event concluded with the attendees stressing the need to repeat such activities that enrich students with the tools of the digital age and prepare them to keep pace with the requirements of the future labour market, with a focus on promoting technological inclusion and empowering women in fields where the percentage of female participation is limited.
